TAN-DELTA TEST SYSTEMS
Electrical properties of insulating systems change due to age and continuous electrical stress. Tan-Delta, also called Loss Angle or Dissipation Factor testing, is a diagnostic method of testing electrical equipment to determine the integrity of the insulation. By measuring electrical properties such as Capacitance and Tan-Delta regularly it is possible to ensure the operational reliability of HV insulating systems and to avoid costly insulation breakdown. This is particularly important for High-Voltage Bushings, Power Transformers, Generators, Power Capacitors, H.T. cables etc. Power Electronical manufactures a variety of Tan-Delta test systems to serve the different applications of testing Transformers, Oils, Generators, XLPE Cables, Capacitors etc.
PE-ACDF-1 - Automatic Capacitance & Tan-delta tester 12kV 200mA
This is a complete integrated Capacitance and Tan-Delta test set including inbuilt 12kV AC power source Measurement Bridge and a reference SF6 gas filled Standard Capacitor. It is simple to use and easy to operate. It has a large backlit LCD display, and soft touch membrane buttons. The connections are simple and the set can be operated by inexperienced operators. The set is extremely light-weight and portable enough to be carried by a single person. Equipped with a USB serial output port, users can download their test results on PCs, or can use the internal 99 test storage facility. Integrated thermal Printer also allows printing of results on site. The instruments are calibrated in our in-house test laboratory to give you results traceable to national standards.

PE-HVTD-12/100 - Manual Capacitance & Tan-delta tester 12kV 100mA
POWER ELECTRONICAL’s Manual Capacitance and Tan-Delta Test System (Model HVTD-12/100) has inbuilt HV Power Source, Standard Capacitor (SF6 Gas Filled), and set of cables. The compact design of the system uses the principle of three winding differential transformer on a high permeability mu-metal core to measure the Capacitance of the object and its Tan-Delta value accurately. The Capacitance & Dissipation Factor (Tan-Delta) Test System is contained in a sturdy metallic housing with mu-metal lining which shields it from external electromagnetic & electrostatic influences. Built-in battery powered Null indicator makes the system suitable for operation in workshop, factories, High Voltage Switch Yards etc. It is suitable for both grounded as well as ungrounded objects. The system is provided with High Voltage Protection Devices which protect the system and operator against failure of test object or standard capacitor.

Tunable Reactor (Variable Resonating Inductor)
- Can be used in the UST, GST and GSTg modes
- Use of resonating inductor does not alter the accuracy of measured Capacitance or Tan-Delta
- Has selection tapping of 1A, 2A and 4A, at 10kV
- Available in 1A, 2A and 4A models
High-Voltage SF6 Gas filled Standard Reference Capacitors
Insulated Standard Capacitors are indispensable in every modern high-voltage laboratory and test field where it occupies a wide range of important functions. The SF6 insulated standard capacitor is used as Capacitance standard in measuring bridge circuits to measure the Dielectric Dissipation Factor (Tan-Delta) of all types including cables, capacitors, bushings, instrument transformers and power transformers. Further-more, It can be used as high-voltage capacitor for voltage divider circuits for high-voltage transformer test. Power Electronical’s standard capacitor’s insulation is of the highest accuracy and reliability. The result reflects a true advantage in high voltage measurements especially at high humidity levels.
The SF6 insulated Standard Capacitor is also used in conjunction with our Capacitance and Tan Delta measuring bridges (e.g. PE-ACDF-1, and PE-MCDF-6 ) as a comparison standard for exact measurements of the Capacitance and Tan-D of HV equipment like cables, transformers, bushings, capacitors, etc. The capacitor is provided with a top electrode which allows partial discharge free interconnections to the other elements of the HV circuit.
The SF6 insulated standard capacitor is designed for indoor service and is portable. The standard capacitors of the SCGF series are used for:
* Exact measurements of the capacitance and tan delta
* Exact measurements of AC voltages (AC divider)
